I haven’t tried it so far because of the potential side effects. But I’m getting a bit desperate.
Turmeric is safer and contains curcumin.
Thanks for that. I thought they were the same thing.
Those who took curcumin showed greater improvements in the negative symptoms of schizophrenia (apathy, flat affect, poverty of speech, and the like).
I tried it for a month but didn’t notice any difference.
No effect and it increases fatigue possibly due to some effect on blood sugar. So not a good option for improving negative symptoms, motivation etc.
DMG supplement is best for negative symptoms, improving motivation, reducing day time drowsiness, fatigue etc.
There’s absolutely no study/research about dmg and schizophrenia.
Well I’ve ordered some.

Lets see what disaster this will bring. 50% of the supplements I’ve tried have made me worse.
But nothing ventured nothing gained I guess.
I took turmeric curcumin for my skin condition. I never noticed it helping my sz or my skin condition for that matter.
You need black pepper otherwise it doesn’t get absorbed in your system.
I use it all the time and it really helps.
I love it. I have so much of the stuff in my cupboard. It’s very good for inflammation. I find it a bit estrogenic though but it helps.
Turmeric and black pepper is the best way to go.
Check out how much turmeric I have, I love the stuff. I have more in the fridge and more in smaller bottles. And black pepper.
Turmeric with hot milk and honey and pepper is nice.
I did a bit of research before I ordered it. There may be issues with Piperine (black pepper). The stuff I ordered is bioavailable and doesn’t contain piperine.
I find the whole turmeric root with black pepper more effective. Maybe because it uses all the compounds of the plant. But I only tried one brand and it wasn’t as effective. I’m not sure why.
I’m mean I only tried one brand of curcumin supplements and didn’t think much of it. Where as I like the whole root with black pepper more, it’s more effective.
I used to drink ginger tea religiously for its anti inflammatory properties.
But then I read somewhere about tea drinking and reduced calcium absorbtion
It numbs my paranoia. I tried it about 10 years ago off of medication for one day. I liked it and it numbed me in a good way. Only thing is it’s estrogenic so I got scared and stopped, thinking plant estrogenic were bad, but I’ve learned their ok now. So I try and take it daily even though the effects aren’t as strong when on antipsychotics because they block a lot of the effects, in my case anyway.
have you tried black seed oil or nigella sativa capsules or extracts containing thymoquinone, theres alot of good studies showing it to be beneficial for things sz people may be more likely to struggle with (havent seen studies for negative symptoms in particular but people report it helping with motivation, anxiety, mood, anhedonia, and as well as sleep and other body processes related stuff.
Thanks I’ll look into them.
