Happy vegetarian

the vegan diet was just too restrictive. but im finding a vegetarian diet is easy to stick to.

I get plenty of protein, like 80-100grams and lots of carbs. I have a 1/2 cup of oatmeal for breakfast and a smoothie as well as a pumpkin seed and raisin mix.

as well as 1/2 cup of quinoa with onions, cayenne pepper and a little marinara sauce for lunch to go along with a salad. I also eat a bean salad once a day, usually at lunch. I eat a big lunch after my workout.

then for dinner, I have a large garden salad with a baked potato, mustard and olive oil on it, with a side of peas. and for a snack I have an apple.

pretty easy to stick to, I would recommend it.

im getting a little tired of eating the same things everyday so I just ordered a book off amazon “vegetarian recipes for runners, 150 quick and easy recipes”

will probably take it easy on running until after my hiking trip coming up and then I will dive right into it when I get back. going to need to burn a lot of calories and be high carb for all this cardio im going to be doing.

How long does it take you to run a 5k? It took me 25mins, is that good? I can’t run anymore though since my foot turns inwards and goes dead when I try to run on it. I really miss it. Nothing beats a runners high.

im not sure, haven’t done one in years. I ran a 20:19 minute 5k in high school. today it would probably be like 24-27 minutes. im kind of fat and out of shape but getting better. meds don’t make it any easier. my goal is to get under 20 minutes, I don’t know if that’s realistic or not.

25 minutes is solid, about a 8 minute mile pace.

Does your foot ever turn inwards and go dead when you run?

“Happy vegetarian?” That’s a bit of an oxymoron, don’t you think? :upside_down_face:

I forgot the exact meaning, but its like saying one thing with the intension…but also meaning or doing the opposite at the same time (somethin like that).

I don’t have any problems yet. I do have to drink more fluids when I increase my cardio. I’ve been getting cramps in my calf. so im drinking more water and a pitcher of peach tea. sometimes a sports drink. and trying not to drink as much coffee as I heard it can dehydrate you, not sure if that’s true or not.

Yeah I think it is true. I drink a lot of tea and I go to the bathroom after every cup. It’s a diuretic.

Tea helps the urinary tract. So even though it causes you to urinate more often it helps clean out bad bacteria.
If you worry about increased urination drinking water with lemon helps rid of dehydration.
