Handwriting -what is yours like?

What is your handwriting like? Mine is poor especially when trying to write quickly. I am slow and poor at handwriting. I did have handwriting lessons when I was 11/12 but it made very little difference.

Mine is very good, but I used to do calligraphy as a hobby when I was a teen. Don’t use it so much these days thanks to desktop publishing apps.

Before my last psychotic episode it was lovely.

During the episode I couldn’t write, it took both hands to steady the pen.

Now it isn’t as nice as it was before unless I print.

I voted poor because my handwriting has really declined.

i think it takes confidence to write nicely tbh (maybe something to talk about) idk

just practice. I offer calligraphy services. =^o^= hand lettering is so much fun.

Although not diagnosed with it I put my handwriting deficiencies down to the fine motor deficits that occur with dyspraxia.

It honestly depends on the day/symptoms. Sometimes it’s beautiful, sometimes it’s near illegible and there’s nothing I can do about it.

I’m left-handed, so that’s my excuse for “poor” handwriting.

I’m left-handed as well. I don’t like handwriting/cursive. I’ve been told that my printing is nice though. The smudge factor really plays a role. I have to hold the pen or pencil with my hand all contorted above the writing.

Mine is awful and always had been, I also got extra handwriting assignments and help at school but it didn’t help at all. I can’t even read my writing most of the time. Yay for typing!

Another left hander here.

My handwriting is very poor with my dominant right hand because I developed a tremor there about a year ago. Since then I have been training myself to print with my left hand and now the left handed printing is very readable.

My signature with my right hand is unreadable but so is my doctor’s.

Contorted? Yep, I know exactly what you mean.

I remember when I was in school, I’d come home with a black smudge on my hand everyday. Blue pens are the worst!

It depends on how long it’s been since I’ve written…

I just recently started prating hand lettering but it’s one of my passions, I would love to become a professional typographer one day and develop my own fonts. It has been one of my dreams for the past 5 years.

I’m still an amateur but I enjoy it a lot and make some money too.

A dude needed me to write something down so I did and he took the paper and came back the next day upset.

“You do know your handwriting is like chicken scratch right?”

I had never even heard that term before so he explained to me that it was awful and he couldn’t read it and then he pulled out the post-it and passed it to another guy to see for himself.

Everyone there judged it to be “not readable.” Like, all three of the people that were standing around were shaking their heads.

I have atrocious handwriting, but that didn’t stop me from taking a Chinese Calligraphy class in college. I still have the brushes, paper, and ink. We would put water on this slab and rub the ink stick in water to make the ink.
