Handling family emergencies

I had a major emergency in my family yesterday. My wife almost choked to death on a doughnut and lost consciousness. Fortunately we were at my dad’s primary doctors office and they saved her life. She is still in the hospital but doing well. I am keeping it pretty well together and trying not to get overtaxed in caring for her and my dad. I didn’t sleep much last night so I get a little irritated at some of my dad’s requests. At least I am aware of that though. Little twinges of paranoia at the hospital but probably only because there are lots of other worried people there too. All in all functioning with mild symptoms but taking advantage of whatever rest I can get.

Doughnuts are hard on the esophagus. Too thick and doughy. :doughnut:

Glad to hear your wife is doing better. :hospital:

Thanks… Yeah they are giving her antibiotics to clear up any pneumonia. She is much better. I have been getting a lot of support from friends and family which is really helping a lot. I stopped drinking coffee in the morning and seem to have more even energy during the day and my stomach feels better.

She is still dealing with being weak from the pneumonia. I am trying to improve my problem solving, and more importantly be more discerning about ignoring trivial problems from others that would otherwise eat up my time and energy.
