Hammer Studio horror movies (Hey, it's almost Halloween!)

Anyone else out there love these old/cheesy horror movies?

I say cheesy in the most loving and endearing way. The hammer horror films were produced by a British film company.

They made a lot of films based on American movie horror icons, Dracula, Frankenstein etc.

And the Hammer films had a lot of great English actors too. Especially Peter Cushing.

You can say that Hammer was the last cinematic round of “traditional” horror.

Horror movies today are way too disturbing and gross for my taste.

I don’t know a lot of Hammer Studio Productions,

And I’m afraid of watching a lot of horror films,

But I love Vincent Price.

I’ll watch any of his movies a few times,

The man is the King of Creepiness.

I like all the classic, old, American ones, “Texas chainsaw massacre” “Nightmare on Elm Street” “The Hills have Eyes” “Dawn of the Dead.” All the classic drive-in movies as they’re called.

And I love all the British Hammer Studio ones from 50’s through the 70’s.

I also love a lot of the really old Italian, zombie movies, especially Lucio Fulci’s Zombie.

C.H.U.D., Ghoulies, and Day of the Dead are my favorite 80’s ones.

What about the “Evil Dead” series,

Excluding the new one, of course.

I loved those,

Even “Army of Darkness”.

Yeah I don’t watch many movies by myself, I mainly like the older and cheesy horror movies. Anything with monsters or rubber hands.

I do like some scary ones, but I think they’re rather tame compared to what’s been recently released in cinema.

Vincent Price was in a classic, Shock Waves. It’s sort of obscure, but it’s a great midnight movie.

@far_cry0 Usually on DVD.

@GoldenRex Sam Raimi is a genuis! LOVE the Evil Dead series.

Little fun film fact, Raimi supposedly taught the Coen Brothers the method of putting the camera on two, 2 by 4’s and running with it while filming. Hahaha!

Edit to add:

I don’t know if that’s a true fact. But here’s a good article about the friendship between the Coen Brothers and Sam Raimi

I saw “Evil Dead” when I was super young, by accident.

Wasn’t afraid, but did develop a serious crush on Bruce Campbell.

Still have a crush on Bruce Campbell…

For obvious reasons…

Haha. I think that’s cool.

Did Campbell write a book? I want to say he wrote some kind of autobiography.

Edit to add:
He did @GoldenRex!

Yes!

Nice work, I was going to say I think he wrote a couple!

Well, enjoy weird radio shows tonight,

I’m going to sleep here super soon.

I had a good video chat with my guys, so I’m done with today.

You should really think about submitting a story to Coast to Coast,

Surely you can come up with a good ghost story,

It wouldn’t even have to be long or drawn out.

You probably have an edge when it comes to scary (shit)!

(we found out we can curse today by putting everything in brackets, so like the adults we are, we’ve been abusing that information, I suggest you do too.)

Hahaha!

Oh but I don’t want to offend anyone. I’m such a good boy

I’ll look into that Coast to Coast story deadline and info.

Good night! Take care :v:
