Finally. I can’t believe I worked up the motivation to go. I’ll find out if metformin has been doing its job amongst other things.
Get those blood tests people, otherwise you don’t know what effects meds are having under the hood.

I just had my blood test too! I hate blood tests, because I have terrible veins. They always need to poke me several times to get a useable sample.
Yay! Blood test buddies!
Hi everhopeful, thank you for reminding me I need to get a blood test done for the dose of abilify I am on.
Again, thank you. Take care.
I hate going for them, i need to fill a script then go three weeks later for blood tests
Good going @everhopeful
I had extensive blood tests done during both my Hospital Stays, so I am fine for a while
I’m supposed to go get my blood taken but i’m worried about them putting nano bots in my blood when I go.
They won’t put in nano bots. Don’t worry. The blood flows out into the tube, so they couldn’t even if they wanted. But putting nano bots into you is a worry you’ve expressed before. It’s not real.
I used to have this fear. I didn’t go to the dentist for ten years because I was afraid the Novocain injection had a tracking device they wanted to embed into my jaw. The result was two broken teeth, seventeen cavities, and $5,000 worth of work to get my teeth back in order. Don’t be like me.
The truth is, nobody needs to inject anyone with anything, because most people are no more than ten feet from a device with a GPS, web camera, and microphone at all times. We are already monitoring ourselves, so the government doesn’t have to.
Nice I almost had a blood test a year and a half ago but was too paranoid of doing it… I would get one done now if I had to though. I think that would be a big step for me.
I had blood tests just over a week ago. My cholesterol was 5.5. Blood sugar 6.6 but HbA1c was apparently ok.
Everything else was ok. They were supposed to do prolactin levels but didn’t.
They were supposed to test for my liver enzymes, my cholesterol cuz my family has high cholesterol running in it and something else I forget…but I was too paranoid of the nurse stabbing me, them missing the vein on purpose or me passing out because they took too much blood. I knew one of the three would happen…even though it probably wouldn’t… I’m overdue for a blood test.
My mom and one of my friends are nurses, and they swear they only do this to absolutely terrible patients. Like, openly racist jerks or people who scream at them. If you are being your usual friendly self, you have nothing to worry about.
Or the lady is a prick and did it on purpose once to me!!! I was coming off my worst psychotic episode…and my p doc was drug testing me for marijuana as part of my probation as I had been arrested for my psychotic break. And she was real conservative and missed the vein on purpose…and was like “OOOOPS MISSED THAT ONE BY ACCIDENT”…I was not racist at all, in fact quite the opposite. Not a jerk. Just psychotic. She was too dumb to notice what “testing for clozaril levels” means. She should have her license revoked. But she scarred me forever.
Usually the cute young African-American women who take blood are super nice to me. Like this one chick was acting all normal, then she read my file and saw “TESTING FOR CLOZARIL LEVELS” and she was all of a sudden super sweet and kept asking me questions like “I just moved here! Do you know where I can go eat!?” and stuff. and she was really nice. It was this old hag who missed the vein on purpose. But then I think she felt bad when I didn’t even complain. I was real quiet and always been tough. I just said “ow” and forgot about it. But didn’t really forget about it because a couple years ago I was scared of getting blood drawn as a result of it.
I was on clozaril for a year and had to get tons of blood work done. It was easy for me to remember who was good at taking blood and who would miss a vein. Every time I got the guy that couldn’t take blood well I was like god damnit not again!!
Well I guess there will always be random jerks in the world. Don’t let it scare you off of getting much-needed blood tests. A missed vein hurts, but it is worth it to know if you need cholesterol medication. They always have to stab me at least three times, because I have terrible veins. I just expect it going in. And I always bruise after.
Lol that’s the thing. I’ve gotten the “compliment” at least ten times “YOU HAVE SUCH GREAT VEINS!!!”…“You’re the easiest person to take blood from I’ve ever encountered!! Because of your veins!!” But you’re right I do need a blood test. Sorry I’m a little hyper this morning. Too much coffee/annoyed by my dad on the phone triggered me a little.
I get stressed from family too.
Hey, I bet the nurses in Washington are more likely to be nice than the nurses out here. You can check, and let us know what you think!
Oh yeah I remember the third thing they tested for. Which could be important/could not be an issue at all. Hypothyroidism
They thought I had low thyroid levels for a year or two. I took cinthroid and everything. Then it went away and my thyroid levels were normal for the next 2-3 years. I even saw a thyroid doctor and she said I was alright. But of course my Doctor is a good doctor so doesn’t wanna take any chances and wants to check my thyroid levels again after a couple years. So yeah I should do that…
