Do you take Vraylar before going to sleep or when you wake up?
I take it when I wake up – I’m on 6 mg. I find it gives me some energy during the day
I took that â– â– â– â– in the morning when I was on it before I was committed
That stuff was like taking speed!
I can sure use some energy to look forward to.
Hope I don’t have a reaction like that!
There’s a good chance you’ll do well on it @anon14580204
I’m very sensitive to meds
I’d say it has helped me have enough motivation/energy to work part-time.
My problem with the jobs is anxiety-related, but that’s another story lol. Vraylar is a very good med, IMO.
I’ve been on so many meds I’ve lost count. Been hospitalized and done outpatient therapy a lot too. It’s not a competition and I’m no record holder. I don’t look crazy at all but when I open my mouth or if you know me, you know I struggle with schizoaffective disorder.
I started on Vraylar several years ago. It’s the only one I’ve liked or enjoyed and kept me out of the hospital for years. I don’t need to go back. I’m saving the insurance company money and keeping my family happy and myself alive because of it.
I take it at night because I hate feeling tired or sedated during the day. I get insomnia at night, so there’s that. I even thought about trying to take it in the morning instead.
I’ve done both. I’ve been on higher doses and lower doses and other combos, but I’m currently in the goldilock area with 6 mg of Vraylar and 120 mg of Cymbalta.
All the other antidepressants cause psychosis or over stimulate me. Only one I haven’t tried is pretty much effexor but I’ve tried Welbutrin and Prozac and stuff like that too.
First thing in the morning with a piece of toast.
Have you tried latuda? My primary care doctor wanted to put me on vraylar but I couldn’t afford it so I got latuda. Just wondering how they compare.
You seem intelligent from what I can tell reading what you have to say. I think you have it pretty well together @anon36577941 I think we all feel really loopy but maybe we’re not all so bad after all
Always breakfast bright n early!
I’m also on Latuda – well, the generic version. 80 mg. Latuda makes me a little drowsy, so I take it at night. Vraylar has a more “activating” feeling, if that makes sense. Not manic or anything, but just a boost in energy and mood.
Latuda has worked best for me for positives, whereas Vraylar works for both positive and negatives. That’s how it’s helped me, at least. I recommend it
Thursday is the day I will be titrating off Clozaril
My pdoc initially considered Vraylar, but the last appointment he mentioned Latuda
I guess I’ll see at my appointment. For me negatives and less weight side effects are priority
For sure it has to keep positives under control
I read good things on both
I just really hope whichever my pdoc chooses it will be much better than my current AP (Clozaril for the last 11 years)
Wave you saved my day and infact saved my year. You are the first person besides of me who descripe that taking a surden meds was like taking speed. You have really saved my integrity.
Yes taking Ziprasidone was like taking speed.
The new 3. Gen and some of the 2. Gen antipsychotics are the oppesite of Major tranqulizers and infact Major ACTIVATORS.
So if you are very depressed and lacking energy then for G…. Sake get on them.
I need to get tranqualized so I take major tranqalizers.
I took Vraylar for a while but it didn’t do anything.
Hahaha!

I hear good things about both. I hope you get the right AP for you!
