I saw my doctor today because my left eye was hurting, watering, red and sensitive to light. During my appointment he put some dye in my eye, turned off the lights and used a blue light to find the scratch on my eye. He said the scratch was pretty big. He put a patch over my left eye. I now look like a pirate haha. Have to keep the patch on for 48 hours.
Geez that’s rough @TheCanuk… They did the same thing for me while I had pink eye to rule out any scratches.
Do you wear contacts?
i hope it gets better soon.
sounds like annoying thing to have.
funny that you look like a pirate now though =D
@Schztuna - Nope I don’t wear any contacts!
@lekkerhondje - Thank you!
That happened to me a while back. If you get a cupped eye patch, it will be much more comfortable.
How long did it take to heal for you? @Ninjastar
Ouch! I hurt my eye before when a hard contact got super lodged into my eye. Anyway, the good news is the eye heals quickly
About a month. You have to be dilligent about using the ointment.
A full month?!?! I hope mine heals quicker then that lol. This sucks. @Ninjastar
It hurt real bad for a while. And my nose kept running because my eyes watered so much.
Well im glad you’re okay now! @Ninjastar
I’m sorry @TheCanuk
I wish you a speedy recovery.
They did something similar to me when I had shattered glass in my eyes after a car accident at 200kmh. The Dr removed the glass pieces from my eyes.
Thanks Wave! @Wave
@Aziz - Im glad you survived your car accident. Did you also suffer a concussion?
Thanks, no luckily I had my belt on. The car flipped and landed on its top. I broke the window and got out. Just my right knee was bleeding. Police called an ambulance and stayed with me at the hospital. They thought I was on drugs and made me do tests for drugs (not blood test). It was a suicide attempt back then and it was the beginning of my psychosis.
I told Drs I am hearing voices and feel unreal with an unreal environment, they said its just stress but after a year I was diagnosed with psychosis after a second suicide attempt (overdose).
Many years ago, my Labrador retriever puppy bopped me in the eye with her puppy nose when we were playing. I went to the eye doctor and she said I had a corneal abrasion and since the source was a puppy nose, she gave me some antibiotic eye drops to use. I didn’t have to wear a patch.
A few years ago my youngest got hit in the eye with a blackberry branch. Thorn scratched her eye pretty good. It healed quick. About a week of drops.
My eye is feeling a lot better today. Less pain, not watering. Still going to keep it closed today.
