I found using the antibacterial eye ointment really really difficult. It comes in a tiny squeezie tube and you either get nothing out of it or half the tube.
Proper feast or famine.
So I gave up after 2 days. Of course the pink eye returned. So pissed at myself I phoned a friend pharmacy. The pharmacist said apparently the ointment is notoriously hard to use. They said you can get it in liquid eye drops instead.
But they want me to bathe both eyes in salt water 4 times a day for a week. She said in 95% of cases this solves it. In fact she said the antibiotics for pink eye don’t do much. Maybe it is viral not bacterial?
Either way is weird putting cotton buds in my eyes but she said this is the recommended way to get salt water in there.
Tmi but the cotton buds look gross after. I think my eyes will be glued together when I’m wake
