Got a phone appointment with my CPN tomorrow. Gonna discuss med things - pregabalin

I am doing pretty good anxiety wise. This is on 200mg pregabalin.

But it has caused pretty bad weight gain and I also worry it is habit forming. I would love to be off it.

But I have heard, like benzos, it is hard to come off. I am prepared to endure crappy days but I need the advice and consent from my pdoc to do it safely.

In the U.K. you access your pdoc via a nurse usually.

I am gonna ask the nurse if she could mention this to my doc if she happens to see him. She can’t authorise the med cessation herself. In the U.K. has to be a doctor I think.

Question is is speaking to my nurse about this inappropriate? I don’t want her to feel pressured to take responsibilities regarding meds - it’s not her job.

Should I just wait till my next pdoc appointment? This is like 4 months away I think

I have been on 300mg per day of pregabalin and it seems to work well for anxiety. I have managed to lose weight as I have been much more active and exercising - but everyone responds differently I guess to these things.

The plan was to come off the diazepam and the pregabalin to replace it, but i am stuck on 10mg of diazepam at the moment as it made me very ill dropping down from 30mg over a few months.

I hope they can find something else for you
