Gold coin I inherited

When I was 13 my grandfather bought me a gold coin. He and I had a great relationship. He gave it to my parents with the instruction to give it to me when I was an adult. It’s 1oz solid gold. My parents put it in a safety deposit box but forgot about it. I think it’s the cutest coin. He bought it for $450 at the time. It is worth about $4600 now. I’m not going to cash it in because it came from my grandfather. I think I’ll give it to my kids to share equally. Anyway, here’s a picture of it.

My grandmother left me a bunch of currency. My aunt hung onto it for me through me being homeless and gave it to me after I sobered up. There are a bunch of $2 bills, 100 $1 centennial bills in sequential order by serial number, and 10 of the Devil Face bills also in sequential order. All bills are mint. It was worth over $50K when I had it appraised a decade back.

It’s all sitting in a safe deposit box for my daughter.
