Going natural

Just came back from my meeting with my pdoc and had a great conversation with him.

I’m going off Wellbutrin and starting to supplement with L Tryptophan for depression.

For anxiety, he allowed me to use Beta - Alanine. He mentioned that a couple of his patients use it.

And of course I will continue to take my AP, I would never drop that.

I’m excited to start this !

L-tryptophan is POSSIBLY UNSAFE when taken
by mouth as a medicine. It has been linked to over 1500 reports of eosinophilia-myalgia syndrome (EMS) and 37 deaths. EMS is a neurological condition with symptoms that include fatigue; intense muscle pain; nerve pain; skin changes; baldness; rash; and pain and swelling affecting the joints, connective tissue, lungs, heart, and liver. Symptoms tend to improve over time, but some people may still experience symptoms up to 2 years after they develop EMS. Some people report that their symptoms have never gone away completely.

My pdoc said all serotonin supplements can lead to that. He said it was okay for me to take.

5-HTP has the same thing.

Possible Dangers and Side Effects. Too much 5-HTP in your system can cause a spike in serotonin levels, resulting in side effects such as anxiety, shivering, and serious heart problems. Some people who have taken 5-HTP supplements have come down with a serious condition called eosinophilia-myalgia syndrome (EMS).

Ok. If you notice anything funky then stop taking it immediately.
