Going back to a previous medication

Has anyone ever gone back on a previous antipsychotic successfully? I am considering asking to go back on quetiapine as it had little side effects.

yeah ive taken medicines more than once

I went back to aripiprazole many times, it always seemed to be the one that worked best for me

I started on Aripiprazole (Abilify). Then I switched to quetiapine (Seroquel). That was a disaster so I went back to Abilify.

Yes I have been off and on flupentixol many times. It was the injection with least side effects for me.

Yes, but I found the 2nd time around I needed a higher dose

Yes, I tried some other AP’s briefly, but wen’t back on zyprexa, because the switches didn’t work.

I went back to Paliperidone from perphenazine.

I recently got rid of haldol. Never stopped my perphenazine though. Haldol was like an add on.

I was on Risperdal for a while, decided to try Invega, it didn’t work out so went back to Risperdal

I went back to Risperidone after about a month in the hospital trying different medicines. However, this time I needed a Clopixol depot injection as well.
