Genetic aspect of schizophrenia

Are you schizophrenic?in your family there are other cases of schizophrenia?you have other relatives with schizophrenia?

My mom is Dx bipolar. They say there is a strong link. She suffered psychotic breaks after conception and my birth and was hospitalized both times. She was also adopted in the 50’s. All records are sealed. It always made me wonder about her history in general but more specifically the reason for the adoption. If her mother suffered from schizophrenia or some other major disorder and/or if she had a similar experience when giving birth. My menstrual cycle greatly affects my symptoms, so hormones play a role in me too. I also have PCOS and can’t predict my cycle or know what to make of hormone fluctuations. So far haven’t been able to nail that down.

I have schizophrenia. I don’t know of any other members of my family with schizophrenia, but my sister and niece are Bipolar, and, as nodrugs said, there is a strong link.

There is a strong thread of mental illness through out the family… I’m not the only one.

It’s no genetic problem.

Although certain problems go along with certain genetics.

Spirits are looking for certain things and magical things can stay in families.

It wasn’t my genetics that made me look at the clock at 6:16 again, hundreds and hundreds of times now.

There is a plethora of mental crap in my family. My dad has two cousins with schizophrenia, that’s where I got it. I have comorbid disorders but schizophrenia is by far the worst.
