GABA-yaba-do! Anyone tried Baclofen?

Interesting - had not heard of this.

Interesting… I don’t think any of those conditions apply aside from ā€œMultiple chemical sensitivityā€ under TH2 dominant category…

Might make sense… it could correlate with how easily my brain seems to be effected by everything.

Thanks for the info. If a doc every mentions it then perhaps I’ll have my head wrapped around one word at least.

I have actually tried gently opening discourse into the more specific details of immune system function with GPs before. Never again. For some reason they interpreted it as hypochondria when all I was actually trying to achieve was improve their day with pleasantries pertinent to their passion. It would seem that not all medical doctors remain passionate about their profession. Lesson learnt.

Also, I don’t think that GPs really ā€œneedā€ to know a great deal about the various functions of T Helpers and cytokines. They are more like the puppeteer who delegates to the actual medical nerds. In my cynical experience.

One thing I miss about my last job was the chats I had with an Aspergers guy who used to be a molecular biologist. Now HE was more than happy to talk about the immune system and I think I even inspired him to dust off some of his old books. Pity I never got his full name/email address.

It could. Also simplifying immune system function to TH1 vs TH2 is … just that. However, I figured you might find it an interesting gateway into the realm of immunology. I truly believe that genetics and immune system function are the absolute roots of all health issues. Everything else … just the trunk, branches and leaves.

This is going way off topic, as per my usual style … but it’s my thread ><

The ex biologist I mentioned. He gave up his career because his social difficulties (he appeared far more affected on that front than myself) lead to being taken advantage of. Even if he could’ve he would not have put any effort into climbing the corporate ladder. As such, he was assigned menial lab-tasks and became bored. Such a brilliant mind wasted by the idiocy of the system.

This kind of reflects an inner dialogue I have with my SZ. I don’t believe I’m ASD but I lack the fleeting sociable personality a lot of people have. The why so serious kind of thing.

When I’m standing around with a bunch of bubbly folk who are talking about things that to me should just be unspoken… I start to ponder why they do it… and this doesn’t really pan into your conversation. Vapidity it has been recently called to me…

I gotta find my brain real fast. Just woke up.

90% of the folks out there love the vapid, careless, indulgent progression of the day/night… and while I can get down on the indulgent part the system, beyond functioning in a career, extended to the whole system of human life and interaction… it seems quite idiotic.

That said, any human being is still impressive on their own. I just get bored around most of them. Leaves me feeling like a solipsistic ass. Ignore and be ignored is how my time with folks typically goes…

Thanks for giving me an idea for my next internet alias! I think it is no coincidence we bump into each other a lot around the forums. ASD or not, I understand how you feel. Childhood schizophrenia used to be classified as ASD by the way. The two issues have quite a lot of overlap. I think one of them is cosmic loneliness syndrome. A friend of mine coined that phrase, so I take no credit.

I have just become a bit more of an assertive (there’s ass in there for a reason) person since having kids … you just have to. And in this assertiveness I have come to say such things as ā€œWhy is it that you expect me to be interested in listening to a narration of daily living?ā€. The obtuse infuriate. It’s sad though, because the joke’s on me. I’m the oddball.

But hey, we’ll find our place one day! Hopefully somewhere absent of morons and idiots. It IS possible if you weigh things up mathematically.

good point… to counter… to assume makes and ā€œass out of u and me.ā€ Old junior high teacher told us that.

The idiocy is inescapable. I know a decent number of pretty highly intelligent people though. I’m lucky as that wasn’t always the case. Hopefully that number will grow and I can just live out in the country.

By living true to your values, you WILL become surrounded by people whose influence motivates growth. Living a simpler life off in the country is not an unrealistic dream, mate. I am absolutely certain that you will make it happen if you put your mind to it.

Hah… I spend a lot of time thinking about the diet I’ll have out there and how I’ll generate power.

Almonds and parsley are a must… Probably other grains. Various rices and some wheat. Hemp too… for cellulose.

A small fish farm and a chicken coop for eggs… wait scratch the fish. I don’t want to kill anything.

It basically be vegetarian. Order multivitamins from amazon. Make almond milk. Cumin is my favorite spice.

Want to make it a vertical garden… hydroponic of course. Troffs on a rotary.

Big ole house.

It actually sounds amazing! I’m going to start with a chicken coop and vegetable patch and green-house and build from there. My property is not huge, nor is it hidden away from society, but just these steps alone ought to decrease the need to leave the property, which would be great. My goal is to be a hermit.
