Funny girl on the ward

On the ward there was a whiteboard on which the staff would write all the activities and schedules etc. They would write it each morning.

And each morning this one girl would wipe it clean like 30 seconds after the nurses filled it in. Was like a ritual.

didn’t notice those things. stayed in my room.

one time, this not-so-funny guy charged at a cop/nurse who was trying to calm him down; outside my room.

A couple of us took about 100 books, a pile of board games and other stuff, and made a giant tower out of them in the quiet room, then stood on a chair and balanced plastic cups full of water on top. We also made a human hammock… A couple of blankets draped over two chairs each with a person sitting on makes a ā€˜reasonably’ safe/comfortable hammock for the third person. Until someone wants to stand up… Yep, boredom…

There was one guy on the ward who would get up onto a table every night (around 9 pm) and spread out his hands like he was on the cross. I’m not sure why he did it. I think he was trying to make a statement.

Anyway, the nurses had to come wrestle him down from the table every night when he did it.

I have never been in these places… YET but I met some folks in the emergency as I would call it the ā€œcorridorā€ where I waited to be evaluated and treated - but it was amusing because I was psychotic

It’s best not to go, really. Mostly just sitting around waiting for dinner time.

was the food good at least ?

I don’t think I want to be there unless psychotic - because I might have fun

It’s kind of like airline food. It’s okay. It’s just that there’s very little to do on the ward, so it’s something to look forward to.

Sometimes they would wheel out the TV and show us movies. Some of the movies were good. Like we watched Galaxy Quest once and I really liked that.

I found it varies a lot from one hospital to another, from really tasty, to bland but acceptable, to downright awful. Some places let us order takeaway some nights, which was a nice change.

just the idea makes me laugh. I cannot watch TV, CLIPS or anything. But I go to the movies twice a year.
It’s okay I guess. I mean my life kind of feels like that too except I can buy stuff sometimes.

It is something Would like to do - work in a psychotic place and cook good food for my psychotic like-a-likes. =)

Some guy smuggled in meth and went bonkers on it. He had also a lighter and was making a flamethrower with deodarant can. He kept flamethrowering some appliance on the ceiling, think he thought it was acamera or microphone he also used his bed sheets to lock himself in the room. The nurses were to scared to handle him. He tore the curtains down and was holding the curtain rod as a weapon. That was about the time 5 cops showed up. He didnt stand down . He was in a fighting stance holding a rod against the cops :stuck_out_tongue: they bumrushed him n tackled him to the ground. Was a pretty cool dude. Smuggled in tobacco also n was sharing it. Taught me how to make a lighter from a battery. Think he was a bikey …

I used to do the same with the whiteboard. Sometimes id climb the fence, never jumped to the other side though. One time i got on the table n tried to get into the ceiling. I had some permanent markers and drew all over myself a few times. There was a few people that always wanted to fight me. I was always always smaller n didnt want to fight so id just run around jumping over lounges n stuff to escape :stuck_out_tongue: the nurses didnt seem to care that people were always trying to attack me…
