Friends and schizophrenia - do you tell?

My threshold? I’m not positive what you mean.

You’re so weird that the only way we’ll be able to tell that you’re acting weird is if you’re acting normal.

“Oh ■■■■, she hasn’t sworn for several hours and she’s reading Good Housekeeping. CALL 911!!”

:stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Dude, do I know you off of here? Because that’s real close to things that have been said.

I don’t mind telling people about my sz, but this is basically what happened to all my friends over the years

You don’t become the King of kings without having a top-shelf intelligence gathering network.

Yeah why not, if they don’t like it that’s not my problem. One of my good friends has psychosis too.

If it comes up I speak about it openly but I don’t make a big announcement or have a coming out party every time I tell a friend. To me it’s just not a big deal and if someone has preconceived notions about sz I change their viewpoint pretty quickly when I don’t run to the window every 5 seconds to check for the FBI and I don’t murder them with an axe every time I see them.

Hmm, if I were to make a friend with this illness, I feel I would have to tell them, otherwise they’re not getting the full picture of me. I mean like an acquaintance, of course I wouldn’t tell, but a friend friend? I think I would have to tell them. And if they ghost me, so be it. I have to get used to social rejection as it is nowadays.
