If it comes up I speak about it openly but I don’t make a big announcement or have a coming out party every time I tell a friend. To me it’s just not a big deal and if someone has preconceived notions about sz I change their viewpoint pretty quickly when I don’t run to the window every 5 seconds to check for the FBI and I don’t murder them with an axe every time I see them.
Hmm, if I were to make a friend with this illness, I feel I would have to tell them, otherwise they’re not getting the full picture of me. I mean like an acquaintance, of course I wouldn’t tell, but a friend friend? I think I would have to tell them. And if they ghost me, so be it. I have to get used to social rejection as it is nowadays.
M y roommate found out. He hasn’t treated me differently or said a word about it.
