Someone asked about the forum guidelines on another thread so I thought it would be worthwhile to post a link to the Forum Guidelines as well as to other useful Forum Information.
One thing I have noticed recently is that some users are regularly posting off-topic in threads that other folks have started. This falls under the forum guideline of “Keeping On Topic”.
While everyone posts off topic sometimes – that’s to be expected in an internet forum where conversations evolve and flow – the issue arises when this becomes pervasive and disruptive. This is particularly concerning if the thread is on a serious topic where the thread’s Original Poster (OP) is asking for specific advice or is in distress.
It is also quite disruptive if folks get into a spat and de-rail an entire thread in the process. My advice is to ignore another forum member if you find them annoying rather than engaging in a disruptive interaction.
Another important forum guideline to keep in mind is “Suggestion, Not Criticism”.
