The trouble is we cannot hit the reset button, and generally, allowing everybody no matter how qualified to have a valid opinion is dangerous. I cite the last since forever we have recorded the nasty ■■■■ people have gotten away with.

yeah, i dont see why thats an objective at all.
i dont think planets formed with the purpose of supporting life.
i also don’t think intelligence of the caliber we consider significant is necessarily common or a direction in which living things often evolve.
its alo possible that any organisms which might be able to srnd out radio signals to us are simply disinterested in communicating with us, as their disposition may not even drive them to do so.
humans are social animals, accordingly we have a neec to expand our horizons and communicate.
still, its incredibly unlikely that other organisms in the universe are analogous to us in their basic drives and intellectual landscape.
our physical bodies, contrary to what you would see in science fiction, are not intended to leave our galaxy, basically ever.
so, i dont think finding life out there is a realistic or relevant aim.
developing technologies which benefit and modify our lives on earth, like crispr, seem like a great use of our time and imagination compared to the other stuff.
