Bleh. Sticking with Win 10 for now when I have to and Win 7 whenever I can.
Does anybody actually need this Windows update? Or do they just want more money.
I’m assuming that that is a rhetorical question.
Installed windows 11 again last week. And blimey it eats your ram. Im hoping its cos its the developer version but it eats an extra 2 gig when your gaming.
“just about” getting used to it.
Took 6 minutes to boot up the rig this morning. But i aint fitted the SSD’s yet so hoping that will improve.
I have a Intel Core i7 6th gen, MS says they will lower the requirements to 7th gen. My mobo supports 7th gen CPU’s. I looked them up and they are going for around $200 used and $400 new. So if I want an officially supported PC I am going to have to buy one. I don’t have the money to buy a whole new computer but I can afford just the CPU.
Buying a PC pre-loaded with Windows is like buying a condom pre-loaded with AIDS.
I’m still running Windows 7 whenever possible. Windows 8 and 10 are not things I wanted or needed.
Been on windows 11 for a about 3 weeks now. It aint bad. I remember people moaning about windows 10 - but people will get used to it, like i had too.
If your into playing AAA Games - you have to upgrade, or you get crap with the Nvidia drivers and alike.
Bloody RAM Eater tho.
Out of all versions of windows I hated that one the most. I’ve been using Windows since version 3.11
Windows 8 had the worst UI. Windows ME had to be the dodgiest in terms of stability. Vista wasn’t wonderful, but it wasn’t as bad as many made it out to be.
Remember Microsoft BOB?
I couldn’t have said it better myself, that is exactly what my experience was like.
It ain’t good. The forced updates are a fecking nightmare. Was able to walk my station automation back to Win 7 to reduce unplanned downtime as deferred updates still get rammed through with Win 10 Pro. I’m not a gamer (unless you count solitaire) so I’m happy if I can get Photoshop to run on the oldest Windows version possible.
Virtually all my clients complain when a new version of Windows comes out. Things are a little different and it throws them off and they complain. They get use to doing things a certain way and don’t want to relearn anything, but I explain to them how to do what they want and they eventually get use to it and things are fine.
