Fluctuations in mental tiredness

The title says it all.

I don’t know what it is but one second the mental tiredness is gone and I feel normal and then it comes back again and I feel tired again. I’m not physically feeling tired and definitely feel well rested when I wake up and then it suddenly just comes and goes. I usually drink a bottle of water when I wake up and it goes away for a little bit and then later comes back. Today I drank a huge cup of cold water and it went away for a little bit but when I came to work it came back again. I’ve been dealing with this for a little while now and always just thought it would go away in its own but now I’m starting to wonder if it’s something serious. Any advice would be appreciated.

I’m also wondering maybe it is taking my brain a little bit longer to wake up than usual because I do take a medication for sleep. Maybe it’s the after effects of the medication. I figured out a lot of things but I’m having trouble dealing with this because it’s just a really $h!tty feeling to deal with all day long.
