First time Invega

For a first time dose of Invega Sustenna (never on an AP before, but risperidone pills for 5 days so far) They want to use 234 mg.
From what I’ve read here that’s really high. Would you suspect a lot of side effects then?

From what i understand, and what they did on me was a very high dose for the first week, followed by a lower dose the next week and then a lower monthly shot

Thanks for this information.

And how did it make you feel after that first one? Since it’s so high was it like a jolt to your system?
Or are the reactions most people describe here something that occurs after a long period of taking it?

It didn’t go well.

All meds work different on different folk, what might make me violently sick and paranoid might make u the happiest and fulfilled person who ever graced this weird earth.

Best of luck. I will be thinking of u.

Fox out

i was on the highest dosages for the injection and the pills at the same time but the med didn’t work. it was too high i think they hoped it would help my symptoms but in reality they made it worse.

I agree, invega did and still does make my symptoms worse. The voices are gone for the most part but the depersonalizations, derealization, inability to function socially, the laziness, the insatiable hunger, and the dead stare in my eyes are ALL from higher doses of invega sustenna. They start u at the high 200’s dose and depending on how u tolerate it they lower it. I STRONGLY urge u to try the 78 mg dose or the 39 mg dose, which I am currently on. At these doses you don’t have so much hunger and aren’t left with attention deficits. Stay on the lower side of the invega shot, the higher the worse it is to tolerate. I might switch to latuda because I’ve alleviated the aforementioned side effects with the lowest dose EXCEPT for the dead stare in my eyes. It’s hard to emote and my facial muscles never move. Let me know if this helps, invega also gives me a rapid heart rate of almost 130. Been on it for almost a year. Latuda better get rid of the medicated stare in my eyes.
