First signs of psychosis when it first hit you

I started talking to my microwave because I thought my boss had it “bugged” to listen to me…did this for three years prior to my first full blown psychosis…what was your first sign you were going to be delusional?

Went to the cinema and thought the film was speaking to me.

I started hearing voices. Then thought that everything I surfed on online was broadcasted. Then I became religious and thought I could hear angels speaking to me. When I was full blown I thought god spoke directly to me which was out of character, I’m an atheist. Then came persecutory delusions. I thought “they” were after me. I also thought I’d been drugged by a guy and asked a friend what he thought. I also confronted another friend thinking he was harassing me and that he had hacked my computer. I erased everything on my phone and computer. Then I became full blown in public and started screaming stuff. That’s when cops took me to the ward.

mine came on real slow so its a little weird. first thing i can remember is hearing tons of voices talking at night some would say my name when i was around 7 or 8. but they may have been hypnogogic. not sure. then at 9 i remember sleeping with a bat next to my bed because i was afraid my family would kill me. i quit going to school at age 9. and only went for like a year between 9-12. i got hospitalized and diagnosed with psychosis at 11. but i would say when it really hit hard was around age 15. i thought snipers were going to shoot me in the head from outside. so i would avoid all the windows and sleep on the floor or in the closet. i think i asked my mom for bullet proof windows in the house and i tried to convince her to move her bed away fromt the window. i got dianosed with schizophrenia at 16 and its only got worse and worse since then;.

Theres this thing that happens when i start slipping and it happened before i first became psychotic at age 16 and has usually happened again before each episode since. Which is probably at about 6 or 7 times now. Its pretty much a vibe i guess. Something is off and feels odd or different and i couldnt quite place it. Events and conversations and everything mundane felt like it had so much more weight, gravity or importance or meaning. But my full blown psychotic episode began very quickly and abruptly after a horrible event one night. I woke up psychotic the mext morning. I guess i was slipping anyway, but the event pushed me over the edge. Lasted like a year. Was in a ward for about 6 months i think? In an adult ward which sucked. Its all a bit blurry. My memory sucks.

I got my symptoms from going to a meditation. Ten days in the meditation I woke up one morning woth my mind’s eye gone. After that nothing good, and I started getting worse.

It was Vipassana Meditation. Nope, no psychedelics. To this day I’m disabled and cannot work or go to school. That happened in 2017.

yeah. we were meditating 10 hours a day. it can really do damage to your mind to do that for such a long period of time.

I kinda had a mental break from reality one day. I didn’t know what it was but I kinda just went on. My reality changed. After continuing my life I just felt weird and not like myself and had trouble being myself. I had a prodromal phase and it was maybe a year or two later when I started hearing voices.

Started hearing voices in childhood, it was a rough go during the school years. In my teenage days I believed i had special powers and then through my twenties i had bad stuff happen internally and the thirties i was living on the streets and now in my late forties i am still struggling but much better.
