Fireworks have started up tonight. I’m prepared for about a week of being woken up in the middle of the night by them. I used to love them as a kid but people just are inconsiderate with them here nowadays. 2, 3 am they don’t care if they wake everybody up. What’s your opinion on them?

I don’t mind the legal ones professionals set off. Fireworks are illegal in my city but people set them off anyway. This annoys me too. I decided to pick Hate em because I don’t like people setting them off illegally.
now that i know how many dogs run off because of them I hate them.

So, the ones going off now are illegal as well. And they don’t abide by the time restrictions either.
My sister moved to Mexico two years go. She says they set off fireworks on any occasion including holidays, birthdays, weddings etc. She says there’s firecrackers and M-80’s going off most days of the week at all hours. They scare the crap out of her dog and she hates it.
The professional fireworks start around 8;30 or 9:00pm, and they are done by 10:00pm. There’s no legal times at all in my city.
I like them if I know about them in advance. Neighbours who set them off without warning should be summarily executed by roving death squads. Slowly, if possible.
I didn’t vote, because it’s a tie between “like them” and “mildly annoyed by them”. Depends on how I’m feeling and what I plan too do for the holiday.
For example, we lit fireworks in 2020 and it was super fun. We got some pretty good fireworks. But they were pricey.
And this year, we didn’t want to waste money on fireworks, or put in the effort of setting them off and then cleaning everything up. Soo… We’re not doing anything to celebrate. Since we’re not participating, hearing constant fireworks as I’m trying to watch a TV show is a bit annoying.
And, like you said, some a-holes set them off at like 2AM. Those people suck.
I love big firework shows. They have something magical about them.

Where I used to live there were shootings maybe once a month or so. I have trouble telling the difference between a gunshot and a firecracker going off. I hate calling the police about a firecracker going off, and I don’t imagine the police like it as well.
Not legal out here but occassionally someone will shoot one off on New Years. I’m not sure of other states but I love fireworks when at a show. Not at midnight on New Years.
One year on christmas night me and my bro went to the park at 1am and lit off these m80 firecrackers, there basically quarter sticks of dynamite lol so big boom.
This guy comes out and goes “FOR GODS SAKE ITS CHRISTMAS COME ON GUYS!!!”
We laughed and then headed back home

Fireworks scare my dog. Also, the super dry conditions due to the extreme drought here in California means that fireworks are a really bad idea.
They have mostly died down here tonight. Can still hear a few in the distance but it shouldnt wake me up. Tomorrow when its legal during certain times will likely be worse.
I am lucky as I am on the edge of an estate, and my apartment faces towards fields.
The walls are thick, and my bedroom window is really small.
My only concern is the dog, but he can’t even hear thunder when it’s stormy outside when we’re in there
I don’t like it when dogs get upset by these things
One of my dogs is scared to death of them.
Here too for July 1 its 10pm max yet my neighbors were shooting fireworks at 11:20pm. I watched them from my window.
My mother thought it was gunshots.
She is scared of thunder too but has gotten accustomed to it.
