Finally able to focus during mindfulness meditation

It has been a couple weeks but last night I finally managed to stay in the groove, to focus on my breath during meditation without much in the way of thoughts. It was about 15 to 20 minutes in that I really got in the groove for about 5 solid minutes.

Hopefully I can keep it up, gotta keep doing it everyday.

Nice to hear bob…are u on cbt…??? Or any other therapy…

I did take DBT which is very similar to CBT.

I’m glad it’s helping you. I’m going to try this tomorrow. First time going to a class. I’m feeling hopeful.

i’ve tried it but no way can i focus, too many thoughts coming and going :confused:

Well I have been meditating twice a day since my last post for half an hour a piece but other than two times, I have not been able to get into the groove again.

This is exceptionally challenging for me.

@bobbox1980, it’s just a suggestion and by no means do you have to agree, but I find it more helpful to be mediating in a group with others around. It is more motivating. I went twice and I feel so much different in just 3 sessions. I do not know if it is meditation but that’s the only thing i changed recently in my lifestyle. I go to a buddhist centre but I don’t go to their religious classes, just the meditation ones… so soothing :smiley:
