Feeling worn down

What was supposed to be two days off and a quick and refreshing trip to the mountains has left me frazzled. My wife was speaking twice at the same conference so they paid for her room, which was nice. Except that a bunch of her co-workers came along. We have had dinner with them the last two nights. They are young, loud, and have the worst taste in restaurants.

The drive out Thursday was a nightmare because some asshat jacknifed his semi and spewed his load across 3 of 4 lanes of traffic on the TransCanada in a very bad spot in the mountains. I am also certain people got killed because of how long it took to clear the wrecks. It means they were doing accident reconstruction. It also meant we were stuck in traffic for four plus hours. Had my boss texting in a panic because stuff was blowing up at work and he needed help. My Net wasn’t good enough to work remotely from there.

“I thought you have Starlink!” “Yeah, in the trailer.”

I spent Thursday evening working late after the horrible meal and then today working from 7:30 am to 5 pm and then from 7 pm to 10 pm after the other horrible meal. So much for the relaxing day off. I was hoping to do some photography tomorrow after my wife’s conference, but now we have a snowfall warning and need to head east ASAP. Surprise spring snowstorm. I had mentioned this as a possibility before we left and, “oh, we don’t need to take the 4x4, you’re overthinking it.”

Yeah, really?

At least I have the coming long weekend to look forward to. Was going to take the travel trailer on a test run. Except I’m not because it has now been decreed I have to go vist my mother-in-law.

THIS is why I need Welbutrin for suicidal ideation. The stress has also made my voices annoyingly loud. Fack me.

Hah. I’m in the main area downstairs surfing the Net on my work laptop. My personal laptop gakked and the replacement hasn’t showed up. I digress. A hotel staff member just showed up and asked me not to loiter in the lobby if I don’t have a place to stay. I told her I have a place to stay, but the bed is a piece of shite and so is the chair in the overpriced room. I showed her my room key. She blushed and apologized and left.

I guess I look like a skid in my hoodie and beanie. I also need a shave at this point, which isn’t helping my appearance.

Geez. Nightmare-ish.

Things will be back to normal soon.

Rough patch. Hang in there, things are bound to get better.

You might need a new T-shirt written “Please, can I be the boss”
