So…we got the marriage license…so thats a victory…BUT…
We decided my fiances carpets were too bad to try to salvage. We tore up a bit and found some decent hardwood floors beneath. So we decided to tear up the carpet. We got the dining room and the hallway. Still need to do living room. Well, there are some bad spots in the hardwood floors which means we probably need to sand. BUT my fiances condo is up 2 floors, which means we probably cant get one of the big sanding machines up there. We may have to do it by hand sanders.
Tearing up the carpet also involves removing all those wood slats around the edges with the little tacks in them to hold the carpet down…and the foam underneath was stapled too…so we have to remove all the staples. and the nailed down wooden things aaround the edges.
It just feels like its going to take forever. I would prefer just to dig a hole and die right now. YOu think im joking, but im not. Im not suicidal but I would seriously roll up in a ball and die if I had that power right now.
Im just starting to get the house up to snuff and now we have this huge project at fiances.
You’re a strong guy Bowens. I dont think I could handle your life. Working, house stuff, ect.. it would probably push me over the edge. Dont give up man. You inspire a lot of us on the forum.
after what you HAVE done…this won’t be much for someone like you, you stud, you…go man…get it done…we are waiting for greatness from you in every endeavor.
Thanks @TheCanuk . Its probably going to take many days to get it done though. It has me very down.
Thanks @jukebox . Maybe if I get some sleep I can renew a bit. It just seems like so much. My fiance is trying to help by taking out staples, but I could really use another solid worker or 2. Its just so much. I could pay someone , I guess. IDK.
I remember my basement wall leaking and flooding part of my basement. I bought like $150 worth of stuff to patch the wall. My aunt told me that when I got a new roof I didn’t get new gutters. I grew up in an apartment I know nothing about a house. She didn’t say anything for months. For months I had to use a wet vac to clean my basement. I bought all of this stuff one day and a week later she said she’d pay for new gutters. So I said cool. She felt bad that she forgot to tell me. I just got new gutters on the house not the garage. I got the expensive leaf filter gutters. It costed around $1,000. I never got to use the stuff I bought to patch the basement wall. After getting new gutters it has rained a lot and bad and I’ve had no water in the basement. The things you learn. I feel bad you’re learning lessons like mine moving. Hang in there, fella.
yeah, our gutters are filled with dirt and debris…the landlord needs to get out here bad…our roof has been taking a pounding although I know deep down the landlord isn’t going to spring for a new roof.
