I had the exact same problem while on olanzapine, I could lose 2 kg at most and then almost instantly gained weight again.
I lost 13 kg on Ozempic. And I think that the only reason that I don’t gain weight is because I am off olanzapine.
Walking is great for a start! I have a Quest 3 and I play VR exercise games on it.
Depending on the severity and cause of your knee pain, exercises you’re able to do may vary. I was told that walking would be tough. The best thing I can do is swim or use my recumbent bike. (My knee Dx is osteochondritis dissecans and now bone on bone arthritis; I need a TKR.)
As someone who has lost 150 lbs twice with no effort at all, it was easy and likely all med-related. Likewise, gaining all of that back was easy and likely med-related. I’m now fighting to loose anything I can, and it’s a struggle to go against the meds. I would honestly talk to your doctor and only take dietary advice from them or, better yet, a nutritionist. I don’t think people on the internet are qualified to give that sort of advice, but I do think we can commiserate with your experience. So, yeah, I hear you and know where you’re coming from. Best of luck on your weight loss journey.
I’m on zyprexa too. But you can actually lose weight on it if you take it as a suppository. Jk
Zyprexa slows down your metabolism.
Make sure to do regular blood tests with your doctor though. Mine recently found an imbalance in my thyroid and I was able to take pills for it which speed my metabolism up, I’m losing weight slowly with no extra work.
I’m struggling the same with trying to lose weight on Olanzapine. I’m trying to increase exercise. I have recently stopped buying any sugary snacks as I was going down that road. I stopped drinking at home and rarely drink out. I know my problem is all the milk I drink in coffee but I hate black coffee and giving up coffee ain’t going to happen ha. More exercise it is then.
i have the same issue on olanzapine. probably most extreme case, went from 180 lbs on geodon to 360 lbs on olanzapine. only way to resolve it for me is by changing meds. i couldnt take it anymore seeing my bloodwork getting worse so have changed to invega last month. last time i switched from olanzapine to invega i lost 60 lbs in the first 4 months. it happens like clockwork every time ive gotten off olanzapine.first month is always hard thought as every time stopping olanzapine it stayed in my system for up to 25 days. itd probably be the death of me to take olanzapine permanently as a1c and cholesterol were increasing
Paliperidone had me at 200lbs steady. After stopping easily dropped to 160, now on meds back to 190
Its fine being overweight, its healthier than starving yourself and we need our meds so do whats best for you
