Favorite Non-English Film

Meaning films that are subtitled in a different language than English. Obviously our international members are likely to have a greater selection. This is a question for everyone, though.

I was just wondering what your favorites were. For me it was the Emperor and the Assassin. Chinese Film from about a decade back about the Qin (I think?) Emperor. There was so much that went right with this movie. Good action, good characters, the historical backdrop and social commentary was interesting as well. The acting style is a little different from what I’m used to with American actors, but in a good way. Overall I really liked it.

Let the Right One In. It’s still my favorite love story. The American version ruins it.

Very good one,

Didn’t see the American one, I knew they’d butcher it.

That is one of my favourite movies of all time

One of my favourite foreign films is The Seventh Seal, it’s a 1957 Swedish film about a man who plays chess with death, it’s rather dark but quite brilliant. Max Von Sydow plays the main character.
