Fascinating research on the source of sz

If u want to check out some wonderful resrarch that’s happening right now check out Beth Stevens on YouTube. I didn’t understand a lot of it but I think they’re onto something. Apparently the idea goes that there’s a pruning problem in our brains and too much pruning happens. I believe it’s like when one primed a tree one cuts away extra limbs. In a similar way when the neurons or nerve cells r developing there’s too much pruning and too much of the synapse is eaten kind of like the old Pacman game. Fascinating. A lot of the research I didn’t understand but I think it’s worth checking out.

can you post a specific video. there’s a bunch with no mention of schizophrenia in the title

yeah I wanna see it too
My EMDR therapist said something similar to me too.
especially for racing thoughts.

This one talks about sz. gonna watch it now

Yea this was big discovery two winters ago. I dunno what all the hype is about cuz it hasnt proven to be that useful. Just a gene that regulates pruning is altered in some sz cases

Will we still get disability when they find a cure?

Probably won’t get disability when there is a cure. If there’s a cure sz will no longer exist! Can u imagine a world where sz no longer exists. Ah yes! Utopia!

I’m pretty sure I read about it much earlier than this? I recall reading about it way before I got diagnosed. But maybe my memory is playing tricks on me.

Never mind, I re-read your post and I was thinking about the pruning problem hypothesis, while you were talking about a gene discovery.
