I just saw a newslead about how you can get an AI girl/boyfriend. All you need is to download and build ‘it’.
The news showed interviews with people who were married and had kids but were in a relationship wiht thier AI girlfrind. The wife doesn’t know about it.
Others use the app to conquer loneliness.
There are explicit versions for ‘dirty’ talk’ etc.
What do you think of these things?
I am old school, but I can see a whole new generation of lonely young people taking this up. The general trend to meet people in real life is to use a dating app these days. The younger gens don’t meet up to drink their inhibitions away like we did etc.
I bet Japan has this phenomenon going off the charts.
It can be seen as disturbing. I don’t think it’s the greatest trend of all time. I don’t like the idea of people isolating themselves and finding the meaning that they once found with people with machines instead. That being said, this may be one of the vehicles towards real AI
It would be like how some movies make you lose your sense of disbelief. A human can have a relationship with an AI intelligence giving you everything you could have desired. It wll declare ‘love’ when you need to hear it etc. A sex robot is never going to not satisfy you once you have changed your perspective.
I seem to be defending it like a devil’s advocate, but a different gen might see it more amicably is my guess.
