I always make sure both the front and back doors including the screen doors are locked on both exits. I don’t want a home invasion by criminals ever…one time somebody was picking the lock on my living room window and I hit the blinds and made a sound like a gun cocking and the hand jumped away…it was 5 30 a m when it happened…if I hadn’t gotten up just at that moment he would 've gotten in…creeps me out…was he going to kill us? most likely.

Before the sz I had bad ocd. I’d be up every two minutes. I’d think. Did I lock the doors and windows then I’d have to get up and check and recheck till I just got to a point to sleep.
It’s probably on the spectrum but the real bad ocd consumes all your energy! It really is problem!

I obsessively check doors too out of the same fear. My obsession with constantly checking the front door has broken the catch 3 times now and I’ve had to have it repaired. Lol.
It’s a nightmare I know.

I’m obsessed with getting up 2 times every night checking all the windows and doors making sure they are locked. I just don’t feel safe.

just remember your phone is your gun against intruders…if you hear them before they come in you can call 911 and get the cops over there fast. so I always make sure my phone is in my bedroom with me at night.

I am constantly checking to see if the doors and windows are locked.
I have OCD but am also fearful and paranoid.

Better safe than sorry. I take normal precautions too and lock windows at night and the mental health agency just told us when they inspected three weeks ago that we left the house with windows open. Actually we’ve lived here almost a year and regularly let the house with the bathroom window open and maybe even other windows. No problems the whole time but maybe we just got lucky. We lock all the windows when we leave now, and of course the door. It’s a nice neighborhood on the surface.

Here the police is 30 minutes away. If they have stuff and gas for the police vehicles, we are lucky, because of the financial crisis…

Everyday everyday juke. I have to. I check the oven and surface knobs are off. Same with front door before bed.

I have this forgetfulness where I could potentially leave a door unlocked accidentally
I leave the door unlocked while I sleep 
. My dad has 2 great Pyrenees’s on his property.

get a security system that covers your windows and doors !! I would but the landlord would make me pay for installation. and upkeep…I used to have a security system. it was awesome.
Something to do with perfectionism. I check my work in a repetitive manner, arrange my items nicely in my office desk, which is way too unnecessary sometimes
