Everything happened in its own time

I left my parents’ home at the very moment when everything started going downhill. The truth is—it hurts, deeply.

My brother is becoming more and more dangerous; my parents spend countless sleepless nights, there are huge arguments, threats from my brother’s side… My father’s health is deteriorating rapidly. He’s 60, but he’s unsteady, struggles with simple tasks, and trembles. Diabetes and neglecting treatment—taking medication “as needed”—are destroying him. I barely recognize the man he was five years ago. His strength is fading; his face is darkened, his eyes full of exhaustion and stress… substances :sob::sob: My mom is preparing to carry everything on her own—and to endure my brother too.

Yes, I’m with them in my thoughts, even if not in body. Sadly, I have to watch a sinking Titanic while also protecting myself from my brother. (He doesn’t know my address.)

I’m so sorry you and your family are going through this. I’m very glad he doesn’t know your address. I don’t have any magic words to help you feel better. But I do care and wish the best for you and your family
