Yes. Internet carries a lot of impressions with it. Depends how we use it.
This forum is pretty calm, but videos and pictures are powerfull mediums, and they can mess with the brain.
I think setting some limitations on how long you have acsess to internet can be helpful. You can use a software to keep kids (and adults) safe to help you out. They often contain time restriction so that you can limit your online activity. Personally I have my phone set at 2 hours each day, and I definitly feel it helps me keep it real.
