Sometimes I can’t remember the words I want to use. It’s like they’re on the tip of my tongue. It’s so infuriating.
Happens to me all the time and I’m only 25!
I don’t know if this answers your question adequately, but I once yelled out “THING YOU SIT ON THAT’S MADE OF WOOD” because I forgot the word for ‘chair’. In my native language that I have literally never gone an entire day without speaking.
Lol, that’s cute
Also, because Norwegian and Danish are very similar languages, when I forget a word or phrase in one language, I borrow similar ones from the others. Sometimes the sentences aren’t exactly coherent, but people usually get the gist of what I’m trying to say.
I once dated a man who spoke 5 different languages fluently, he would interchange them when he got excited. When he was trying to explain things to me I had no idea what he was talking about half the time. It was funny.
Uh, uh, uh, ummm, uh, sometmes.
@Leaf Same here.
All the time! I’ll forget really simple words or names of objects that I know I should be able to recall. It really frustrates me.
Strangely, I remember a lot more words and have a much cleaner syntax when writing vs speaking.
Most of the time yes.i forget lot of words in a sentence.i think my prefrontal cortex deeply damaged both because medicine and disease itself.
It happens occasionally but I am 30 y.o. I think the meds blocking dopamine do this.
All the time. Sometimes I think I have early onset dementia
I had this problem but it went away when I stopped smoking weed daily. I’m not saying that’s how it works for everyone, but I was relieved to get my memory function back.
this happened a lot to me while I was writing my book…what’s that word? WHHHHAT’S THAT WORD???
