So I had a really good experience in my academic advisor I was going to take chem 1this semester. But my mother and I think it might be too soon given that the class is already started and I would be entering late, might be over my head. So I’m going to wait until October 23rd to start with college algebra and then next semester take chem 1 and bio 1.
Unfortunately, once I disclose that I was schizophrenic to my academic advisor she stopped taking me seriously I think.
She also went to the trouble of adding and then dropping my chem course… I inadvertently made busy work for her I feel bad… wish there wasn’t stigma though.
The stigma stinks. I am sorry you experienced that. But don’t feel poorly for making busy work for her. It’s part of her job to deal with the changing choices of students.
See if your college has a student disability resource center…they can do things for you like take notes if you’re absent or give you longer test times and take tests alone if you’re paranoid. My university did this with both my bachelor’s and master’s degrees.
Yes, when I was a visiting student at the college I’m at they did the service for me
I’m sure that they will revisit their effort when I take a course.
