English mix-up

tell me a pair of English words that you sometimes mix-up. how do you know which word to use?

For example, sometimes I get “chose” and “choose” mixed up. but then I remember the movie “The Matrix” and I remember the word “chosen” as in “you are the chosen one!” Remembering that movie phrase helps me. :stuck_out_tongue:

Effect and affect always trip me up
