Personally, I preferred doing a Bachelors to a Masters. A dissertation is a lot of work and personally I found it rather boring.
I will have a look later on!
My bachelors was a double major
I had two dissertations to do in my last term
If you graduate from the OU, I would really recommend going to the graduation ceremony.
It’s very enjoyable and memorable.
If you enjoyed that, you could be a good candidate for a Masters.
I remember that my Master’s dissertation was over 20,000 words, so it took some effort (and I really hated it )
I think I will this time, last time i was in hospital but this time; im working so as not to be psychotic again !
There are many ceremony dates at the OU so you can pick one when you feel well.
I actually graduated from the OU in 2020 but only attended a ceremony in 2023 because of Covid.
I like Feynman also. His IQ was in the 120s and he was cool to me. He also won a Nobel Prize. I read some of his books and his humor was cool and his personality was interesting to me.
I don’t really equate intelligence to grades but I never did well. I think there is a correlation but it’s not a guarantee in life. Einstein was up there or the best. Some people who get 4.0s in university go to MIT or Princeton for their PHDs and do well and become world renowned professors. I was never at that level obviously lol.
I had hard and easy professors. Did well in some classes and did horribly in others (Cs). I never failed a class in college, but dropped out early in life (senior undergrad) because I lost touch with reality and couldn’t focus and study because I was stuck in my head from schizophrenia and psychosis.
Einstein is one of my favorite or a classic or the best.
There’s a ton of other semi famous people in my mind like Godel and Everett and stuff. A lot of these geniuses suffer from mental illness. Even Everett had issues.
I also remember Boltzmann and the guy who came up with different levels of infinite sets (Georg Cantor I guess). A lot of them went crazy. Some recovered and some didn’t. Some did great work early on like John Nash.
I wish I’d had the non academic skills/ recognition of being 2e to able to cope with university. Sadly my difficulties were mislabelled as 'character flaws ’ until I was in my early 60s. I wish all of you the very best with your studies.
My worst subjects were in math (my major). I wasn’t equipped and went downhill from schizophrenia. My best subjects (and most interesting) were probably business and economics. I prefered math though. It’s hard. I was never smart enough nor interested in getting a PhD in math or physics or engineering. It’s impossible now and I screwed myself. I could pick a non-stem major and probably do better or be happier, but decided not to do that.
