Efficacy of KarXT on negative symptoms in acute schizophrenia: A post hoc analysis of pooled data from 3 trials

I don’t like the implication that it is sz causing negative symptoms rather than the use of first and second generation anti-psychotics.

Really, karXT is comapring the negative symptoms of the older APs.

You just have to do an AI search to find out the results of having a lack of dopamine in your sysytem which is what these older generation APs do.

It is laughable that this is denied either by doctors or the pharma industry!

For example, the doctors don’t ignore the lack of dopamine and motivation when it comes to Parkinson patients.

It is widely known the lack of joy, motivation and unhappiness Parkinson patients endue all due to lack of dopamine.

Yet, when it comes to SZ patients it is widely ignored. The very meds themselves block dopamine!

‘‘Results: KarXT was significantly better than placebo on PANSS Marder Negative Factor Scores in the full sample’’.

So KarXT does not cause depression or sedation like current antipsychotics? For me it would make sense, since KarXT does not block dopamine, it reduces its release.

I used to think the exact same way. I spent so many years off meds though, that I understood it was the illness itself. I wouldn’t recommend doing a case study yourself, but personal experience fwiw. Not that the meds don’t cause sedation/negative symptoms themselves. It is on top of already present ones though, imo.

Lol, I mean doesn’t clozapine have the highest efficacy out of all APs tho? KarXT did not work for me, but I do hope that it will work for others with a tolerable, and different, side effect profile.

Yea people think that it must be as efficient as the best while having the least side effect for it to be good, what a joke

@Toad

Have you already tried karxt?
