Drugs suck!

Every day, I fight the inclination to get high. It’s been two months sober, and I’m still fighting it day and night.
I regret getting high the first time.
I’m bored all day everyday, even when I’m doing something "fun."
Psychoactives are the only cure to this boredom, and I’ve been considering just giving up.

Don’t give up! What kind of drugs you used to take?

It’s been a year and a half since I quit drugs and no regrets here. After awhile it starts to become a thing of the past.

Can you substitute them for something else? Ice cream? Movies?

I also feel substituting can help. A hobby or a practice of meaning to you. I still go to aa and i quit in my twenties. Sometimes i get a little tempted but overall im so grateful to have quit. I prayed for the obsession to be lifted and it took a bit but it was

That’s the addiction talking, still. Yeah, booze and drugs were fun until they weren’t. (Think being homeless and owing drug money to a violent biker.) It will get better, but it will take time. You’re on the right path so please stay on it! The journey will keep become much more “fun”, but it’s going to take time for the addiction to fade. You’ve made it through the worst part so you’re almost there!

The Big Book describes alcohol as the rapacious creditor. It gives courage and good feelings, but it makes one pay back many times over.

The guy downstairs cannot make friends, so today he is washing his car . . . I can see how that would be a functional activity

It gets easier with time. You need to find a new hobby for distraction.

It’s a withdrawal… will pass after a while. You did a good thing, leave that ■■■■ and don’t look behind.

Why give up when all that life consists of is fighting. You are in a battle. Keep your head up and fight with all your might.

When I quit alcohol nothing had any meaning for me.

I still crave the high I got off it, but can get high from other things that are not drugs or alcohol now.

I thought about drinking today, I think it is going on over three years now I lost track of the last time i drank.

I dont think it helps to see my next door nieghbor drinking 10 or more beers everyday from like noon until midnight.

I study if I could I would do weight training. Eating well and building a physique is a good way to get a natural high and feel good about yourself. For example I’ve always liked working out I used to bench 80kg squat etc for a few years. As soon as I decided to give up drinking I over tripled the amount I was benching and doubled the amount I was deadlifting squatting within a 5 month periode. drugs can have a major effect on your performance can change the way you think and feal. It’s best to be natural. I don’t even believe in the medications they give people for the mind. So unatural
