Dropped my classes

I just had to face the hard fact that I’m not ready to go back to school.

It kinda sucks, and I kind of feel like a loser. But I have to do what’s right for my mental health.

Anyways, I hope you all are well.

There is no better way to put it other that how @HuckFinn has.

You made the right choice. You can go back next year if you are feeling better for it then.

I was going to start studying next semester. I want to become a librarian. And I can do a course online.

But I decided that it would be too soon after going proper part time at work. Plus I want to volunteer in a thrift shop alongside working so I need time to adjust to working proper part time hours and volunteering.

It would just be too soon and too overwhelming for me to start studying part time amongst all these other things.

Vocational Rehabiliation works with the disabled for progress through school, and funding,

if you haven’t already looked into it. My daughter, no mental, but CF, had some major illnesses,
even ran races while sick and took first in her age category.

She finished last August. B.A.

I understand completely. With Sz. and Sza you have to really carry a light load in life. When the time is right you’ll get your degree.

Exactly what I think too.

hmmm, rare, that people who drop out, finish. I did. But my illness was dormant, intermittent, with occasional mind games from others and myself,

but school environment is such that those around you make you seem everyone else. I got the degree. Your thought right now, is what’s the use if I’m just not going to be able to function later?

I was the first person in my immediate family to get a college degree, so proud, and came home to my brothers, gave them everything they needed in high school, a whole plan, to get into college. They acted

like I was preaching a God exists. If it mattered to anyone, would I have made more money?

I got sick with sza in my 4th year of college many years ago. But, when I was better I went back
through the college’s disability center and took classes with the people in my classes knowing I was ill. The professors were very supportive and did not allow any negativity towards me. When I graduated in 1998 it was the proudest moment of my life. So, don’t worry because when you feel better you can always go back to school, too.

That’s inspiring to hear. Thank you.

Yeah when I dropped out of high school I had no idea what I was gonna do until I got involved with music more by taking guitar lessons. I don’t have a GED but I managed to get in to studying stringed instrument making and repairing at a luthier school. The work is all hands on and I actually enjoy going to school and learning stuff about repairing and making stringed instruments. There’s no requirement for a high school diploma or anything for it. Plus I get to choose what classes I can take and take them at opportune times for me. I’ll get my GED when the dumbasses behind it give me my accommodations.

yeah. it’s ok. I never got it anyway.

I told my mother at age 15 I wanted to do modeling, she asked,

“Who do you think you are?”

it never stopped I guess.

Don’t worry @azteccelt it’s not a big deal, you can try again when you’re ready
