My interview is in 4 hours, so I’m panicking already. I’m scared that I’ll be given a tour, and it’s a large place. I can’t walk or stand for too long without sitting for a minute. Normally, I can do better, but my knee injections are wearing off as I’m due for more on Halloween. Anyhow, my problem is with attire. It’s heated up a bit. I’d planned to wear long sleeves to cover my wrist tattoo and mostly to cover my old scars. Some of them were stitched up and are very obvious. Would it be weird to wear long sleeves when it’s going to be 80 degrees outside?
It may depend on the job you are trying to get. Maybe attempt to dress respectfully; but, also so that you could walk straight from the interview and start doing the job with any provided protective equipment.
If long sleeves are safe and in the given environment, I doubt that it would seem weird to wear them in under 95 degree fahrenheit weather.
Yes, it’s a black cotton top and lightweight for sure. I was going to pair it with nice jeans, newer black boots, and possibly a wine-colored pointelle cardigan I just got if the weather stays low this morning. I think it’ll be in the 60s at the time, but I know the high is 80, and I don’t know when it will warm up. Sometimes it hits the high in the morning. I’m only going to wear small stud earrings, no other jewelry. Hair down with a small amount clipped back to keep it out of my face. Minimal makeup. It’s basically how I’d have to dress for the job. It’s working with kiddos a few hours a day, and I want to look nice but like I know my clothes might get damaged because kids.
It might be weird but it’s worse for people to see the scars if they’re bad as you say. Maybe wearing long sleeves won’t be bad if it’s a light cotton shirt.
As long as my clearances come back okay, I’ve got the job! She was very nice, said that she was always willing to give SAHMs a chance because she’d been one. So even though my work history is 15 years old, she is going to see how I do. It’s only 3 hours a day, but I physically can’t handle more than that. I really need this to work, though, and it’ll also be a great way to be more active. Three hours won’t be too long away from the new puppy, either. So it all works out, I hope. I only have one thing making me nervous: My doctor has to fill out a form saying I’m fit to do the work. We’ll see how that goes…
