I’m worried that sz has visible traits. I get worried when talking to people that they can see my condition, especially in my eyes.
Is this true or I’m just tripping?

I don’t think specifically SZ related but more of seeing you are stressed about something.
In my case it doesn’t show most of the times, but sometimes I look absent or have a smile because of a joke with my voices. I think most people can’t tell at all.
Also, I try to tone down these things when in public.
Okay thanks @Jonathan2 @Mars
I shouldn’t worry about this.
Nope! It isn’t that easy to determine schizophrenia.
Thats a great argument. If not, psychiatrists could determine it with a mere physical explorarion.
Do you still see a psychiatrist in NL?
Nah I see him when I travel back. I prefer my old pdoc.
You could ask to consult them via videoconference. I see my pdoc next Tuesday via Zoom.
He’s pretty oldschool, but I don’t have any positives on abilify 15
No. It’s an invisible illness. It doesn’t discriminate.
You’re lucky. Are the exams coming up in December or January?
Yeah I will see my pdoc for christmas tho. Let’s see how I manage stress…
You are tripping bro
That’s a great argument. Maybe they can have better methods some day. Even brain scans can’t prove it. They largely use the DSM-5 or w/e and it’s based on history and symptoms.
I’ve heard about enlarged ventricles and stuff. Sometimes they use blood tests or rule out specific conditions like it’s a diagnosis of exclusion. I think it took a year or so before I got officially diagnosed with sz/sza.
A lot of times we are super sensitive or insecure. I know I am.
I don’t think the science is there yet. I don’t think we can diagnosis based on a blood test or an eye exam yet. Maybe some day.
Your right that diagnosis is basically opinion
@tony1969 my problem yesterday was some eye twitching sometimes.
You are self conscious paranoid. Better focus on conversation not on yourself how you are looking… meaning comes from your mouth
When person is truly awesome you don’t see its weight is ugliness or other outside traits just preciousness
There is no “visible” trait. Its more about how you act and what you say.
I knew someone who was “very” schizophrenic and he made me really uncomfortable because it was so clear he was on a different planet and my friends were sort of humouring him charitably.
If you make sense and aren’t lost in a different world I doubt people are thinking about your condition. Its probably more like you are slightly paranoid or scared of rejection and heavily aware of people’s expressions.
