yeah, so it seems the med actually worsened my ilness, because when i was on it i was on bed all day, and today i went to 5 hours of classes, studied for 2 hours, meditated, talked to friends, read a book, made a song on FL studio and was in general great mood.
How long have you been off Invega Sustenna? It’s my 3 month off it and I still feel no improvement… Is it permanent… I still have sexual dysfunction and discharge very little sperm during sex… Has anyone fully recovered?
Are you taking a testorne shot? Also, are you able to work out… I got the Invega shot 3 months ago and can’t work out… I used to be able to run 8 miles a day now I can only run 1 mile… Will a testorne shot help with running?
I know. I just need someone to talk to… I’m depressed. Invega Sustenna has destroyed my life. I want to talk to someone that’s fully recovered… Have you fully recovered from Invega Sustenna?
Those long acting meds are basically just risperidone but slightly different. In some people risperidone causes cognitive impairment. That may be what you are feeling. Risperidone is also really bad for its effects on prolactin. This means it basically negates your sex drive. Overall I think risperidone works for some but for others (possibly a majority) it has deleterious effects.
When I was on risperdal (basically same thing as paliperidone) I had extreme negative symptoms. Maybe it was due to the fact that I had just had my episode maybe it was because of the drug, I don’t know for certain.
The doctor always says the symptoms are from the illness after they had prescribed you poison. Invega sustenna should be illegal plain and simple. I;ve read too many blogs where people are worried about it giving permanant side effects. Its really criminal what psychologists prescribe their patients at the drop of a hat ***
I get the Sustenna Invega - 156mg monthly injection. Successfully got it lowered from 234. I still work out and go to the gym 3 - 4 days out of the week. I have zero sex drive and haven’t masturbated in months. I have slightly high cholesterol, and prolactin levels and recently found out that it effects your liver as well.
However, I’m not delusional anymore, don’t hallucinate, don’t talk to myself, have insight into my illness, voices are like whispers, maintain my hygiene and am pretty grounded in reality and work as a cashier as well. This medication has kept me stable and functioning for more than a year and has been working very well because I haven’t gained any weight and stay pretty active.
My memory is really bad as well and seems to have gotten worse. Overall the injection has given me a fairly decent quality of life even with the side effects.
