And if so, where can I learn to do it?
Does anyone have a recommendation guide to follow on Youtube?
Please and thanks !!

I have been meditating part time for a year (so basically not at all). The thing about meditation is that it must be done properly, and every single day. In the mental health system they stray away from traditional meditation and miss the point entirely. Meditation is not a ‘vacation’ from your problems. It’s a path to better understand your mind and see the world with more clarity. That all said, I have had periods in the last year where I’ve been more consistent, and it did calm and ground me even after the session.
Here is a video series for a Buddhist approach to meditation by Yuttadhammo: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hLvU7ppM4vE
I would recommend learning from a mentor though. You don’t have to become a Buddhist, but going to a Buddhist monastery/meditation centre is a very good idea. They will help you fix problems with your practice far faster than anyone could on there own.
By the way, not trying to plug Buddhism onto you, they just get it right is all. I really hope you find something that works for you. My advice though, honestly, is just to sit down and meditate (with a timer, 20 minutes to start). Just focus, and re-focus (and re-focus again) on your breath.
Best of luck
Thanks for that info
Not benificial for all people … Meditation is never helpful for me…
I tried sevral times…!!
Meditation can take many forms, the desired result is simply becoming present in the moment, and clearing your mind.
This can be done the traditional way. But it also can be done in other forms. Working out, yoga, prayer, playing with a dog, many forms.
As long as you become conscious of the moment and clear your mind.
That’s my thoughts though.
Can be great, but be a bit careful. When i went to a cloister and suddenly meditated a lot one week, i became batshit crazy. Because i saw all my problems and faults very clearly. A friend had a similar experience. I think starting slowly is important.
I find progressive muscle relaxation can help get reduced tension relaxation techniques can calm you down but if you have a lot of negative thoughts you might not allow yourself to relax
At the least, a half hour of meditation relieved stress and relaxed me but the feeling wore off after about 30 minutes. That’s why I don’t get massages, it feels good while it’s being done but the effects wear off after 30 or 40 minutes.
I use Stop, Breathe and Think.

Get the course, Mindfulness Meditation, by Jon Kabat Zim. And yes, it really works.
