Does anyone think APs cause weird/unpleasant dreams?

Since taking these meds i have vivid dreams mostly very unpleasant/nightmarish.

Coincidence? It sounds unlikely. I personally never have nightmares.

For me it depends on the antipsychotic. I have definitely been on a few that seemed to cause unpleasant dreams, but it seems I only have good dreams on invega.

I sometimes have unpleasant dreams but i’m not sure if it has anything to do with APs. I am on Latuda now and have been on many others over the years.

Qutiapine did strange things to my dreams and sleep. Paliperidone has been great for my sleep.

I don’t think it’s the APs, my belief is that my dreams suck because I argue with the voices a lot. They make angry commentary that wakes me up.

The only drug that I have experience with causing vivid dreams is flexiril. I don’t have nightmares anymore and sometimes take flexiril to get to sleep. When I do I have really vivid lifelike dreams.

Seroquel gave me horrific dreams. Abilify gives me pleasant dreams.

I only have weird/nasty dreams when stressed. Not just because of meds.

Hmm, from what I’ve seen in the replies and from personal experience, it’s common for seroquel to cause nightmares/weird dreams. So, I guess it does depend on the antipsychotic.

Seroquel gave me crazy lucid dreams. I kind of miss it tbh. I would look forward to falling asleep.

I only had vivid and bizarre dreams before going on APs when I started to get sick again last December. That is, when I did sleep. Every night it was either insomnia or bizarre dreams.

I have very vivid dreams thanks to my meds.

I have lucid dreams from time to time.
I also have frequent nightmares.
Last night was awful.

Yes some anti psychotics and antidepressants cause vivid dreams as their side effects. But they usually disappear with time. I use to experience them also but not anymore

I have to take a medicine for bad dreams, so maybe it is from the aps. I never had a problem with the bad dreams before taking the aps.

I used to take Mianzerine, and it gave me very vivid nightmares.
I’ve always had vivid dreams that I remember, but the dreams I had on Minazerine were relaly gorey and scary.
