Antipsychotics and vivid dreams

I recently switched over to the brand name Risperdal and I’m now getting these really vivid complex dreams/nightmares.
The Zydus generic risperidone also gave me these vivid bizarre dreams.

Anyone else get strange dreams on their AP’s?

I didn’t get them with the Solco generic risperidone.

Yeah it is strange, could be because of different fillers and dyes?

Yeah I see my doctor (telemedicine) this week.
I’ll ask her then.

Im on the same medication 2mg TID. I would just not pay much attention to it. Its just the sz trying to manifest itself in your subconscious. I actually just woke up from a wild dream which is why im up rigth now, but Im just going to go start my day and be productive. Have a nice day @Wave

I had really vivid dreams on Mianzerin.
I always have vivid dreams, but those were eery as hell.

What it is is your not reverting back to sleep stage 2 after REM, your mind is going right into stage 1. Getting out of the house to exercise is the only thing that will help. Also the less you pay attention to the dreams or rather nightmares the less itll become a shock to you and the more numb you become to it the less interuppted your sleep cycles will be. Versus changing your medications and your daily routines and important things getting messed up. Dont do that, just be patient, it comes in waves, stages and cycles

@anon80490300 palliperidone is the same thing as risperidone, has the same chemical structure, minus an enzyme

ever since I started AP’s I’ve had almost no dreams. I had a therapist - who specializes in dream stuff, she was a psychoanalyst - say that was normal for antipsychotics.

I have nightmares sometimes. I dreamed that ISIS surrounded us and are attacking us in Canada.

Also I dreamed that a big black bear was chasing me for a long time until he ate my head while I was alive.

Or Ravens attacking and eating me alive.

It’s normal. Different brands have different effects. I looked it up before.
