I was just getting into a routine before covid struck and then it was all stopped but now could be a good time to go back,
Does anyone else here go to the gym?

I used to go to the gym but I was such an outsider and the girls were giving off bad vibes and all of them against me.
Felt like they were trying to dominate me with bad vibes to leave the gym so I did.
Instead I asked the gym instructor to record spinning videos and pump for me to do at home.
I try toe exercises every day but today i couldnāt get myself to do it.
I walk on the treadmill at the gym here at the apartment for 30 minutes a day for the last 5 days
Iām not really a go to the gym type of person so Iāve invested in better equipement so I can work out at home. Works for me.
I stopped 2 months ago, i was under stress and drank to much for the same reason.
Tomorrow i will start again.
I donāt like going to the gym, but i like the āfit feelingā i get after a heavy exercise, so i promise myself and the rest of the forum that i go tomorrow.
thatās cool, they sometimes do virtual workouts for people at home these days as well i think.
its ok, only if you feel up to it,
I really want it to be fun when i go back and go bc i enjoy it, before it was more of me thinking āi need to get fitā or āi need to lose weightā i think i just need to go thinking āitāll be fun and i might meet some new peopleā
I had to give it up because of the 'rona. Doctor wants me to limit exposure to re-infections.
I used to go to a tertiary educational school to lift weights & do cardio although I found as I got older the time wasting travel and need to wait for the equipment to be free. Those are a few reasons why I have a treadmill, a workout bench plus weights at home. Having the exercise equipment at home saves time & money; however, finding the space & room for the equipment is a challenge. No need to wait for equipment to be unoccupied, no need to pay monthly or yearly fees year on year or month after month. Although I miss the cool, clean air during the Summer months to exercise and the refresh of new workout equipment every few years at the gym. Also, I do miss the socializing part with other people at the gym.
I thoroughly hate the gym. But I contemplate going back. I want to lose weight, be more fit. And they have a sauna. They say saunaās help mental health. Will also check the local aikido class. That might be better.
I use to go to a gym in school back in the day.
saunas are awesome, i wish they had a hot tub as well, those are so good for mental wellbeing.
I went to Aikido classes once i think it was 2013, i got very stressed/anxious though, its a shame bc i really enjoyed it and wanted to continue. was hoping to get back to it some day
I go to two gyms
One of them for the hot tub and pool and then another free gym for the weights and track
Iām intrigued
Its the city gym its huge and its free usually very crowded but it has like 4 indoor basketball courts 2 pickleball/ badmitten courts a indoor soccer field and multiple tennis courts an indoor track weights and then other equipment like treadmills stationary bikes other machines ect
Thatās awesome, I have seen few places up here where you can play but there is usually a fee or membership plus equipment hire (if you havent got your own)
There are some outdoors gyms that have been built near schools & in parks but the weather isnāt that good here and people rarely use these even though they are free.
@Rainstorm How can they make them free, who pays for them?
how much you weight and tall r u? Remember to take care of your knees, and take it slow. for example " do walks for 5 minuts then sprinting for 1 minute" or " normal station bike for 15 minute". For upper body, remember to mix up your routines exercises with diffrent exercises and do ācompound liftingā. Try to not to use stationed machines that makes you sit, that is called āisolationā.The extension cords are exempt and the bench. You need to know the diffence on how your body reacts within 90 minutes of any exercises. Its because when you start doing 60 mins it means your bodys stigma is on the gas pedal, your whole biology starts being hyper then after 60 minutes your body starts lowering that kind of feel so you have 30 minites to take it easy. If your doing more than 90 minutes then your body is tired youll understand later.
At times when lifting olympic sized weights, you do need to sit down to do the exercise such as a bench press, incline press, seated rows, and seated military press.
Well anyone can used them for cardio and for aligning your muscles " toning your body". But you wont grow your muscles in a way on how you use them. OP is a starter so yea
I was doing strength training but i am going back to boxing or judo. I dont care much about my physique in terms of modern beauty standards. I just want to be strong, fit and enjoy myself.
