I think I’ve posted before I was training my dog to be one, but I kind of lost motivation and her adolescent phase was ridiculous. She’s like 3ish now and starting to really calm down, it’s recommended to start service dog training before the age of 4, so I still can. I’ve been working with her on learning deep pressure therapy while also just honing in on the basics.

I do not have a service dog. I cannot handle any pets. I get too stressed.
I think it’s going to be great for you though to have your dog become a service dog! Very cool that you train too! Wow! I’m happy for you to have your fur baby be an even bigger role in your life! @Moon

I got my golden retriever Jojo to be a pysch service dog. I cant afford professional training so I’ll be doing it myself. Well, my husband and me. Hes taken over her basic training. Shes only 4 months old so we’ll be beginning her psd training when she’s 1 or 2, depending on her temperment. Shes actually a really calm puppy tho so hopefully sooner than later. For now she makes a good emotional support animal. Whenever i get anxious i have her sit in my lap and i pet her and it helps calm me down.

Mom has a dog, but I am not keen on pets, now, due to Capgras delusions about them.

I tend to think they are possessed, and are not wholly themselves.
This causes me to become emotionally distant from them.
