Does anybody else feel like it's all about the kids where you live?

school, school sports, or band, things like that. the parents make everything about the kids and we never grow up but live amongst them.

what’s for the adults?

our town’s solution, gambling and an eagles tribute band  what fun, sorry sarcasm.

being an adult is damn boring. i think to myself to read more, make money, get involved with hobbies, sometimes i get to take a hike, or stay in a hotel on vacation. going out to eat is about as good as it gets for me.

I feel like in my neighbourhood, the kids have a right to be here while the rest of us are here if they tolerate it.

I have to tolerate listening to them screaming each and every day from 9 am to 9 pm, but if I yell at them one time to be quiet I’M the bad guy

At my old studio apartment I had no problem with knocking on my former neighbors door if the kids were too rowdy in the building. But outside they can holler and bang sticks on trees all they want.

As for adults in my town. We have two bars. A hardware store for the guys and a yarn studio for either or. I personally like the library. Several restaurants depending on how much you want to pay. A rails to trails right through town. A million lakes for fishing. Several short hiking trails. A nice state park for summer and winter activities.

Nah, youth culture dominates a lot of popular music and fashion, but people have a lot of respect for the older generations here.

Now and then you’ll get the occasional knucklehead looking for trouble, but that’s really anywhere.

Last year these young kids were walking in the grocery store talking about how small their…well d!cks are. Just to get a rise out of someone. I’m glad they do it to me because I can handle it but their luck will eventually run out when they do it to the wrong person. Btw! Is playing catch with a football no longer fun? :joy:

here i always know when the high school sports teams are in the postseason because they line the street with signs for each player, with their name and number. haha. im just like ok, they will probably lose.

The neighbourhood kids play all day here outside. Even at night. Drives my husband nuts. Even I get tired of their noise.

Thankfully they do stop every now and then. But I hate it when I have to go out in my bathrobe to take the rubbish out to the bin and they look at me.

I’ve never liked it when I’m in the limelight. I don’t want to take my pyjamas off and get dressed just to throw the rubbish out lol!
